Friends. Isn’t everything so much better when you are doing things with them? School, sports, gaming, play – all these things are more enjoyable when being done with other people. But what is it to be a good friend? How does a good friend behave in different circumstances? Is telling your friend when they are doing something wrong or calling them out for being disrespectful what friends should do?
These are all questions that we have had many conversations about in Year 7 this year. We are striving to be the best friends that we can be. We acknowledge that not all our actions are those of a good friend, but we are striving to improve and become a better friend to those around us.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 1 5:11
We start each year with our Aquatics Camp and this is always not only a highlight of the Year 7 year but of their whole schooling at Unity College. This is a great way for friendships to be made, nurtured, and strengthened. It is awesome to see students return to school and be more confident in themselves and their surrounds.
I’m excited to see our students continue to grow and expand their friendships and strive to be the best friend that they can be to others.
