Welcome to the Unity College Senior School.
The Senior School (Year 10 - Year 12) offers a diverse range of academic subjects and co-curricular activities with an emphasis on preparing students for their entry into further study, work and life as responsible and contributing citizens in the community. We develop academic and social skills in a caring environment, to give students confidence in all areas of their life.
We Learn...
The Senior School encourages independent and collaborative learning and helps each student to succeed – whether in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities or within the broader community and workplace.
We Care...
In the Senior School we foster the development of positive and respectful relationships with teachers, parents and peers. We work hard to respond to students’ differing needs, aspirations and backgrounds. We realise it is essential to recognise the barriers to and gaps in students’ learning and provide support to overcome them. At Unity we encourage a ‘striving for excellence’ in both academic and extra-curricular pursuits and involvement, in cultural and sporting activities as well as academic studies.
We Engage...
We model and encourage students to develop ethics of caring for themselves, others and our world. We offer opportunity and encouragement for students to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and community service programs to develop independence, responsibility, physical wellbeing, mental health and resilience.
In a school where ‘students come first’ we invite our senior students to contribute to defining the curriculum, take part in decisions about Senior School policies and practices, and experience student management strategies that are democratic, equitable and fair. Each student is encouraged to develop their leadership skills.
We Inspire...
Our teachers strive to get to know their students and walk beside them as they develop through the senior phase of their learning. We provide appropriate counselling and career education to help young adults with life issues. The students are challenged to set goals and explore pathways for future learning and employment, preparing them for the ongoing changes in the Australian and international economy and society.
We Involve...
We value the importance of working with parents and acknowledge the strong partnership between the College and home.
